Personalized Pencils For Everyone

Personalized Pencils

Since this website is dedicated to all things wood, I thought I’d have some fun and talk about how fun personalized pencils are and what you can do with them.  Maybe a stretch, but really I don’t think so.  Think about it, all of us wood worker/ enthusiast use pencils all the time.  Why just use a plain yellow pencil when you can design your own for really not much money. Oh, and if you see listings for personalised wood pencils and personalised pencils, I do know how to spell, I just trying to be international here.  All the same info applies.

My wood working is just a hobby, yes I do have a day job, a small business.  Years ago I started buying personalized pencils for my business to give to customers and suppliers.  I would give them one every time.  Each personalized pencil would have my business name on one side and a quirky quote on the other.  I would buy a new round of pencils with new color and a new quote every other month or so.  It was great, my customers loved them and many literally, would walk through the door and went straight to the big wood box to see what the new color and quote on the pencils were.

I should have counted how many boxes of pencils we have gone through the years, I have no idea.  I can tell you that I have thousands and thousands of personalized pencils with my company name embossed on them floating around the country.  Now, tell me how that’s a bad thing?  If you want get all fancy with marketing marketing talk, I’ve made a ton of brand impressions with my custom pencils.  Since they are durable and last quite a long time they get passed around and get seen by a lot of different people.  In other words each pencil has many impressions.  So, say I’ve handed out 10,0000 personalized pencils through the years and on the conservative side each pencil was see by 5 people, that’s 50,000 impressions at a cost of around $2,000.  Pretty darn good.

In a way, I’ve become the “pencil guy.”  So naturally I need to keep the tradition alive with personalized pencils for kids.  My kids get a couple boxes a year and they can out whatever they want on them (to a point, they’re not teenagers… yet) and hand them out to their friends at school.  Personalized pencils for students is a great way to keep the kids motivated to write.  They have a lot of fun with it and it’s a great way for them to express themselves.   If my daughter is into horses at the time, she’ll do some kind of horse theme.  My son is a hockey fanatic, so he usually will have an ode to a favorite player on his.  Personalized pencils for kids are great fun, they can come in some wider thicknesses so it’s easier for them to hold them.  They also feature some nice embellishments like glitter and things hanging off them.

For most, pencils personalized with something personal to them is worth the added expense.  There are all kinds of varieties, colors and styles.  This goes for both personalized pens and pencils.  I have seen combination of the two, a multi-pen with a personalized mechanical pencil option.  For me, I like the natural wood pencils, no surprise there, since I’m a writer for an all wood website.   Pencils personalized in a variety of ways is the best method for your children, for your business, for you or whatever reason you customize.  Variety in life is always a good thing.  Most of the personalized pencil manufacturers are willing to do low minimum order amounts so order often and keep changing them.

The best way to research where to buy for personalized pencils is on line.  Have a few ideas in mind, and when you look at the options that many of these guys offer, inevitably you will come up with even more . For example, I used personalized golf pencils in an order because I had a great quote that just worked better on the smaller pencil.  I have bought pretty much every kind at this point, I have personalized carpenter pencils with “the wood guide” embossed on them, let me know if you’re interested!  Maybe personalized wedding pencils when I my daughter gets married in like 20 years.

Regardless of the situation or the recipient personalized pencils are a great way to pass on a subtle message,  market a business, entertain a child, or just to have a bit of fun.
